Reactor, the developer platform for real-time generative video and world models, today announced that NVIDIA and Sapphire Ventures have joined its Series A round, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The announcement comes as demand grows for infrastructure capable of running increasingly powerful world models in real time.
World models are moving beyond video generation into systems that can simulate, understand and interact with dynamic environments. But as these models become larger and more computationally intensive, running them interactively requires significant GPU resources and infrastructure purpose-built for low-latency inference.
Reactor provides that infrastructure. Its proprietary inference engine, global GPU cloud and low-latency streaming layer enable developers and enterprises to run models at 60+ FPS and sub-40ms latency, all through a unified SDK and API that abstracts the complexity of deploying and scaling these systems.
Reactor is already being used across media and entertainment, where major Hollywood studios, advertising platforms and video streaming services have active projects on the Reactor platform. Leading world model labs in the U.S. and internationally also use Reactor infrastructure, and hundreds of developers are building real-time applications on the platform.
Physical AI and robotics represent another natural application of the same infrastructure. As robot policies and world models become more powerful, many require more compute than can practically run directly on a robot or autonomous system. Reactor can run those models in the cloud while streaming observations and actions between the model and physical system in real time.
Reactor can also run world models as closed-loop simulated environments, allowing robot policies to be trained and evaluated inside realistic, responsive generated worlds without relying entirely on physical robots or hand-built simulators. From open-source models to proprietary customer-owned systems, teams can use Reactor to serve, evaluate and train robot policies and world models without building low-latency inference infrastructure themselves.
“Every time computing has shifted from passive to interactive, entirely new applications have become possible,” said Alberto Taiuti, co-founder and CEO of Reactor. “That’s what’s happening with world models now. Whether you’re building a new media experience or training an autonomous system, the underlying challenge is the same: these models require enormous amounts of compute, and they need to respond in real time. We built Reactor so developers can focus on what they want to create rather than the infrastructure required to make it work.”
Sapphire Ventures brings more than 15 years of experience partnering with enterprise companies as Reactor scales production deployments across industries.
“Every enterprise team building interactive video, gaming or robotics applications eventually runs into the same wall – the infrastructure required to serve these systems in real time,” said Anders Ranum, Partner at Sapphire Ventures. “Reactor’s purpose-built platform solves this very challenge, and its early production deployments across media and robotics demonstrate the breadth of the opportunity. We’re excited to partner with Alberto, Bryce and the Reactor team as they work to establish the infrastructure layer for real-time world models.”
Reactor was co-founded by Taiuti and CTO Bryce Schmidtchen, both former technical leads on Apple Vision Pro. Taiuti previously co-founded Luma AI, where he served as CTO and helped build the infrastructure behind one of the world’s most widely used 3D and video generation platforms. Reactor’s broader team includes engineers and researchers from Apple, Meta, Google, Adobe, Replicate and Microsoft, with deep experience in graphics, real-time systems, interactive media and AI infrastructure.
“A year ago, developers were asking us whether real-time world models were even possible. Now they’re asking how quickly they can put them into production,” said Ahmed Ahres, Head of GTM at Reactor. “We’re seeing studios use these systems in live production workflows and robotics teams explore how to run increasingly sophisticated models without putting all of that compute on the robot itself. We’ve moved from ‘is this real?’ to ‘how do I build with it?'”
The Reactor platform is available today via SDK and API. Pricing is usage-based and varies by model. Developers can get started at reactor.inc/signup.
