Flight-tested, low-SWaP Platform Interface Module gives UxS and payload providers a ready-now path for CLIK adoption for lethal and non-lethal payloads
MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Aeronix, a defense technology company specializing in mission-critical communications, computing and weapons integration solutions, today announced the launch of its Platform Interface Module (PIM), a flight-tested, low-SWaP hardware solution that implements the Picatinny Common Lethality Integration Kit, or CLIK, standard for unmanned platforms. Aeronix is the first company to demonstrate a true end-to-end CLIK capability implemented to the standard.

The PIM provides a common electrical interface between unmanned platforms and payloads, bridging existing power and communications architectures to the CLIK standard. This reduces platform-specific engineering and enables payloads to be added or changed without costly system redesign. The launch comes as the Department of War continues to push for more open, modular architectures that shorten integration timelines and reduce dependence on platform-specific solutions.
“Unmanned systems need to adapt as quickly as the mission does,” said Nate Smith, President, C6ISR Division, Aeronix Technologies Group. “Picatinny CLIK is an important step toward faster, safer and more repeatable payload integration. We invested ahead of the requirement to deliver a ready-now solution that can adapt as mission needs evolve. We’re proud to have a solution that meets both the letter and the spirit of the CLIK standard.”
The PIM builds on Aeronix’s decades of experience in operational launcher control electronics and weapons integration, which informed the development of its plug-and-play, weapons-grade architecture. By packaging the interface as a ready-made component, Aeronix gives platform and payload providers a faster path to CLIK adoption rather than requiring each company to independently engineer its own implementation.
Aeronix has completed multiple flight tests of the PIM, including dozens of inert payload drops, with initial integration onto the test platform completed in less than five minutes. The PIM is available now for integration and demonstration with platform and payload providers seeking CLIK compatibility. Its software-reconfigurable architecture is designed to accommodate evolving payload requirements without replacing the underlying hardware.
