The report also includes information related to workplace culture, diversity, equity and inclusion, and awards and recognition for the 2025 calendar year.

Launched in 2022, Symetra’s CSR program focuses on driving transformation across three priority areas: social commitments, sustainability and governance. The program underscores the company’s commitment to advancing positive social change, supporting a healthier environment, and making a better world for the communities it serves.

Symetra Social Impact 2025 program highlights:

  • Contributed $3.5 million to communities and to programs that support economically disadvantaged and underserved populations across key areas such as affordable housing, educational attainment, barrier reduction services, financial literacy, and youth empowerment.

  • Surpassed 2027 annual employee volunteer participation goal of 45 percent, achieving 48 percent participation and logging over 10,270 volunteer hours.

  • Provided 1,370 financial education activities in the Greater Hartford area through Operation HOPE partnership, with 54 percent of the clients who participated in financial workshops and received coaching seeing an average credit score increase of 31 points.

  • Exceeded 2027 goal to engage 4,000 kids in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) and Team programming, reaching 6,700 unique youth through a combination of long-standing programs like LETS Play by Symetra and National Park Trust’s Buddy Bison program and expanded initiatives.

  • Reduced MT CO2e per employee by approximately 43 percent since 2019, despite increasing Symetra’s employee population by 71.7 percent in the same time frame as a result of moving to a work-from-home environment.
